Athens Information Technology with leading role at Athens Digital Week 2009, the biggest multi event for Technology ever organized in Athens
15 September 2009
Multi-touch surface
A novel perceptive interface enabling end-users to execute commands based on multiple simultaneous touches of the surface. An evolution of iPhone’s 3-touch interface. It is currently deployed for elderly applications in the scope of EU project HERMES (http://www.fp7-hermes.eu).
Mixed Reality System
System enabling end-users to interact with virtual objects within the physical space. Two flavors of such a system will be demonstrated: (a) One enabling user to interact with virtual objects on a physical table & (b) Another enabling users to drag a virtual map (the result was displayed in the screen).
RFiD based Conference Identification System with Directionality capability System that is able to track entrance/exit of conference participants. The system has been developed in the scope of the RFID ASPIRE project (http://www.fp7-aspire.eu)
RFiD based location of user
Users “carry” their mode on RFiD tag around the exhibition. Where the tag is selected, the music selected by the user is played on the closest speaker allowing free movement inside a smart space.
Digital Noise Reduction
Dynamic system for the suppression of noise and the improvement of the intelligibility of speech that is based the online estimation of noise power spectra.
Hot Spot Indicator
Using image processing on an online camera based system, the presence of people is measured and compared across different areas of interest in a room. Both long and short term measurements are taken and displayed on the live feed.
Attention Meter
A system tracking the presence of people in front of a camera and measures the duration and frequency of spectator presence. It can be used to determine “what actually draws our attention” when we walk around a digital city.
Distributed Sensors and Gesture Controlled Robot
A remotely controlled robotic car for surveillance, search and rescue missions that can be controlled by wireless sensors either deployed in its environment or used by untrained personnel. The semi-autonomous nature of the robot will help expand the sensing, vision and control range of S&R units in emergency scenarios.
