Web 2.0 in Healthcare Care by John Sharp

June 6, 2007

John Sharp has shared his presentation at the conference of Northern Ohio Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society in Cleveland about Web 2.0 in Healthcare.

First of all thanks to John for sharing his wonderful slides. I think these slides provide us a very useful collection of definitions and tools of Web 2.0 in healthcare with good examples of some online experiences of the “avant-garde”. To sum up his presentation is an good overview of the supply side, a kind of an actual catalogue.

When I was reading his presentation I was wondering what is the impact of these new technological artefacts on their producers. How do the use of these artifacts impact on their relationships of production, relationship of power and relationship of experience? I was also wondering about the impact of this offer on the demand side. Again further research is needed.

Thanks again for the presentation.
